Robert Edgar

Left school and commenced work in the production side of the Bundaberg News-Mail.

Married Robyn Trulson a talented singer (the old saying opposites attract is certainly true in this case) in 1972.

Robyn is now the head of the music department at the local Catholic College, Shalom.

We had two children, David now 31 who works in IT industry in Sydney and Carla now 28 a drama teacher who teaches at Brentwood School near London.

I left the News-Mail in 1976 to start a printing business with my brother in Bundaberg and I am still printing.

Have traveled overseas to Great Britain, Europe and North America a number of times and really enjoy seeing what’s on the other side.

While problems with my legs etc have never let me be a great sportsman I have always maintained a love of all sport.

I spent a number of years involved with soccer and was president and now a life member of the Bundaberg Soccer Federation.

During this time I was also an active soccer referee and president and coach of the local referees association and the Queensland Soccer Referees Federation honored me with Life membership of that organisation.

Now my true sporting love is golf and I play at least twice a week and was captain and a board member of the Bargara Golf Club for about 14 years.

At the present time I write two columns for the News-Mail one on golf every fortnight and one on general sport each week.

For the past ten years I have become involved in Rotary International and have been president of my club, Bundaberg Sunrise.

I am really looking forward to catching up with my fellow student especially the ones I haven’t seen for a great number of years.
